Week Ending March 17th
to be completed…
On Saturday 16th March I met my sister and her husband at Kew Gardens - thee famous Botanical Gardens in London.

It was a beautiful spring morning, the first really sunny spring-like day after weeks of mostly cloud and rain. The Daffodils were in their full glory.

There were many varieties of daffodils and narcissus.

But that was not all. Indeed all the spring flowers were bursting into bloom, including the first tulips.

My mother had these lilies, or something very similar, in our garden when I was a child. I called them Angels Tears because if you lift the flowers, they drip either water (perhaps after rain) or nectar onto your hand.

I came into Kew Gardens from the Victoria Gate, using the special 'Affiliated Member' which is linked to my Community Interest Company - Ultimate Stess Solutions. I needed to walk past the famous glass-houses on the way to the Orchard Room where we were meeting.
The flower-beds were beautifully laid out and there were informative notices alongside each display.

But what I loved most was the blossom. There were all kinds of blossoming trees, some in full bloom and others, like this double cherry, just coming into blossom.

The corner of Art that I love most is colour and light. The sun was shining though the petals of the blossom. I was entranced.

This next one is my favourite photo. I could spend weeks creating art-work inspired by these photos.

We met at the Orchard Room where I met this lovely lady in the Cafe queue. Her mother embroidered this jacket.

Sitting with my family, I enjoyed a pot of Earl Grey Tea - my favourite.

Then we went to explore and enjoy the gardens.

There's a curving bridge over this lake.

The Weeping Cherry tree - in full bloom.

There is a whole grove of magnolia trees, all in full bloom.

As well as the big pink magnolia trees there were the more delicate magnolia stellata.

My sister has four grandchildren. She and her husband have spent the last month in San Fransisco stayinh with her eldest son who has two girls, aged two and five. In a weke's time they will fly to Australia to meet the latest grandchildren, who are twins, just a month old. She was so delighted to show me the latest photos.
I didn't say to her that all I could think was of the children in Gaza.
